Treating Kidney Disease
The Nephrology Clinic at CHI St. Alexius Health diagnose and treat kidney diseases, including conditions these diseases can produce - such as hypertension - as well as diseases that can cause kidney failure - such as diabetes.
Patients with kidney disease receive services and treatment in the Nephrology Clinic.
Patients who receive dialysis services are followed and monitored by the physicians and nurse practitioners from the Nephrology Clinic in the Kidney Dialysis Unit.
Nephrologists treat people with kidney diseases of various types, such as:
- Inflammation, scarring or hardening in the kidney
- Cystic kidney disease (Polycystic)
- Inflammation of blood vessels in the kidneys
- Kidney stones
- Management of dialysis and transplant patients (End Stage Renal Disease or ESRD)
