Swing Bed

Providing Care And Comfort

The Swing Bed Program is an extended care of services for those who are not yet able to care for themselves, but who no longer need acute hospital services.

Services range from restoring the patient’s independence to providing care and comfort at the end stages of life. At times, it may be considered as an alternative to nursing home placement.

Who qualifies?

Patients who have a history of at least a three day acute-care stay within the last 30 days. The patient’s care provider must also determine that there is a need to additional skilled therapy.

Insurance

Medicare, Medicaid and many private insurance companies will cover swing bed care. The swing bed coordinator will work with you to make all of the necessary arrangements and answer any of your questions.
