Regional Children’s Asthma Clinic

UND Center for Family Medicine, 701 E. Rosser Ave., Bismarck ND 58501

Educating Families About Asthma

CHI St. Alexius Health Regional Children’s Asthma Clinic is offered to children ages birth to 21 years who have suspected or previously diagnosed asthma. The clinic has physicians, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, and nurses work together to help children and their families gain control over their asthma.

Decrease Symptoms

The Regional Children‘s Asthma Clinic helps your child decrease symptoms, severity of symptoms, and have normal lung function testing on as little medication as possible. To achieve control of these goals, it may take several visits to find what works best for a particular child. It is our goal to impact the region with asthma education and awareness improving the lives of asthmatic children and their families.

Asthma is a lung disease that makes breathing difficult for millions of Americans, both young and old. There is no cure for asthma, but it can be managed and treated so you can live a normal, healthy life.

In 2011, eight percent of the children (under 18 years of age) in North Dakota had asthma (approximately 12,000 children). Asthma is the third leading cause of hospitalization for children in the United States. Certified Asthma Educators (AE-C) at the Asthma Clinic are able to answer many questions you may have about asthma, disease process, medications, and action plans.
