September 15, 2023, Williston, ND - CHI St. Alexius Health held their second annual Sugar Bust 5k at Spring Lake Park on September, 9, 2023.
This event was enjoyed by everyone, from competitive runners to those who want to enjoy a walk or jog supporting a great cause! The day consisted of a 5K Run, 1 Mile Walk and 1 Mile Kids Fun Run. Runners enjoyed a bar-b-que lunch supplied and grilled by Triangle Electric.
A community fair was held directly after the run that featured booths from many of our community partners as well as a vendor village.
"Our diabetes team has seen an increase in patients diagnosed with diabetes in our community, said Diabetes Educator Deb Bronson, RN, BSN, CDE.” “Not all insurance plans pay for the tests needed for diabetes management. This event raises funds to help off-set the financial burden patients might be faced with when receiving a diabetes diagnosis.”
CHI St. Alexius Health wishes to thank the Event Sponsor The Buck and Lois Scheele Foundation, the Race Sponsors, Marathon Petroleum, Grizzly Tools and Triangle Electrical, all of the sponsors at all levels, the participants and community partners who made the day such a success.
